Artist Statement

The Herman Miller fabric swatches my architect father gave me as a child became rugs for dollhouses and beach towels for my trolls.  My dolls dressed in handmade designer outfits, unrivaled on the runways of Bergen County.  Richard Anuszkiewicz Christmas cards decorated the walls in Barbie and Ken’s house.  Designed in the style of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater, it teetered on the edge of my dresser.  Every room had an Eames chair, or two.

Summers and weekends in Woodstock, NY added a homespun element to my growing design sensibilities.  Here Midge wore hand-embroidered peasant dresses and miniature love beads, her nomadic lifestyle lived under the finest Marimekko tents.

My quilt designs incorporate strong structure and delicious color choices. The occasional “disco” sheen fabric is a must!
